MISTLETOE MADNESS BLOG HOP!

Welcome to the Mistletoe Madness Blog Hop. Thank you to all our sponsors for this hop! I'm so excited to be a part of it.

Are you going mad with the holidays? I am! I can't believe Christmas is less than two weeks away. I've barely managed to get my Christmas cards out and I've gotten gifts for only one person. ACK! This is definitely my favorite time of the year, but there is so much still to do!!!

I used to be the type of person who started decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. My tree went up, the Christmas music filled the house and I made cookies with my niece and nephew. I'd drive around the neighborhood to see the lights and decorations people put up in their yards. I'd enjoy searching out gifts for all my relatives and close friends. By this time, in the past, I would've had most of my shopping done and I'd be wrapping the gifts and arranging them under my tree while watching It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol or The Holiday.

But this year, I have yet to even put up a single decoration! After Thanksgiving, I kept putting off the holiday activities because I had too much to do. I figured I had plenty of time to get the work done and once I finished my other work- edits, cleaning, job hunting, day jobs- I'd have plenty of time to do my shopping. But this past Tuesday, my publisher told me my next book, Simple Treasures, would be available on Christmas Day. When I pulled out my calendar and realized it was only TWO WEEKS away, I panicked! I've got soooooo much still to do and, if I want to enjoy any of the season, I better get busy as soon as possible. So, while you are visiting here and the other sites for the Mistletoe Madness Blog Hop I will be jumping in, feet first, to my holiday plans.

Now, it is a holiday, gift-giving time of the year, so I am planning to give you a present! Tell me. Are you all ready for the holiday? Do you enjoy it? Or are you like me, scrambling now to get your home decorated and all your gifts wrapped? Leave a comment and you will be in the running for a Christmas treat from me! I'll take comments for the length of the Blog Hop and I'll post the winner on December 22nd, once the hop is over.

Once you’ve finished commenting and visiting with me, don’t forget the other participants in this blog hop CLICK HERE!!! AND be sure to put your name in the running here for the GRAND PRIZE, a Kindle Fire filled with books from the sponsors!

  1. Hi Alexa :) I'm not sure why, but every year is different for my family. When we have the decorations up, whether or not we get all the cards sent out on time, what we cook, who we celebrate with. The constant thing is that our little core of three are always happy and together. I hope you have a blast with this hop and I'd like to wish you and yours a very Happy Holiday season. :)

  2. I've cut back on the decorating and baking, so the season is a lot easier for me. Thanks for being part of the hop and Happy Holidays!

  4. I have to still catch up. I had eight days that I was ether healing from or getting more injuries. I'm still black and blue and limping on one foot. But I will make it! Happy Holiday to everyone.

  5. Carlene, it sounds like you all keep it interesting!

Anonymous, that's great that you can now enjoy it. I'm hoping to truly get into it this weekend.

    P. Creeden, I'm so jealous! I've thought about online shopping, but there's something I like about actually physically shopping for the gifts.

Judy, wow! It sounds like you need to take care of yourself more than anything at the moment. Please do that!

  10. Gifts are bought, wrapped and under the tree or mailed to their final destination. Next week I begin baking cookies then pies and finally bread. I do seem to enjoy it more when things are under control.

  14. I do look forward to the holidays, though they just seem to come faster and faster every year. I do have my shopping done. Which is amazing because I am usually running out for someone I missed or a gift I forgot.

  15. I'm not crazy about the holidays because there is so much going on and it gets stressful but I do have all my presents bought. The best part is getting to see my nieces and nephew open their presents.

  17. Our tree went up the first week in December. I did manage to get my Christmas cards out the day after Thanksgiving though. Plus I did handmade gifts this year. Since I have 5 siblings with 4 spouses & 7 nieces and nephews to make for, I started those much earlier and am happy to report I just need to get everything boxed and wrapped. I am so proud of myself. :)

Merry Christmas and thanks for the blog stop.

  19. Usually I am all gung ho for Christmas. I can't wait for Thanksgiving so that I can decorate, but this year I have been feeling blah. I still haven't finished shopping and when I think about doing it, I feel like throwing a tantrum like a 2 year old. I guess because I have been stuck at home more this season I am just not feeling the spirit of Christmas as much. I really need to have a Christmas movie marathon....LOL
    Merry Christmas to you.

  23. Okay, all of you who are ready? I'm SOOOOOOO jealous! Those of you struggling like me, I hope you get a chance to enjoy some of it.

I'm actually surprised about how much I'm emjoying it even though I'm still shopping and post office visiting with less than a week away. I think I'm trying to make the most of it.

I haven't even read any holiday books yet and I usually read at least 3! I've only got a bit more time! I think I'll go shopping for myself now and head over to my publisher's site....

  24. I barely decorated this year with my health issues and I haven't done any shopping, so you're way ahead of me.

  25. I'm struggling this year. My daughter has been ill all week. I've been at the doctor's office or waiting on hold or calling them and the specialist to see next week. Every year is different. I make lots of holiday gifts. I am making a quilt, knitting socks and a bag, sewing pajamas and blue jean bags. I also made raspberry jam. The shopping is complete. I am doing New Year's cards. I always want to write a personal letter in every card, not just a form letter, so it takes me a month to do them all. Thanks for doing the hop and giveaway this busy time of year!

  31. I too used to be like you decorating way early and getting my shopping done by Dec 1st. I'm not at all like that anymore. I've lost the spirit over the years and don't do much of anything anymore. I keep hoping I'll get in the spirit one of these years. Thanks for the great giveaway!
