You know you're a suspense writer when......
you're stretching at the end of a gym class, you're lying on your back and you wonder if the wires connecting the speaker above you to the ceiling have been cut so it will fall on someone.

A New Review!
Celebrate with me! Fractured Paradise, my IPN story set in Sunderland, England, received 4 stars! Here are some of the comments:
"The author does a very nice job painting a picture with her words. She’s able to pull the reader into the story, making it feel as if I was a silent observer in the room while the action happened. If you’re interested in reading how two people who should be adversaries, yet cannot fight their attraction, this is one to pick up!"

Several Sentence Sunday!
Hello! Since www.sixsunday.com is no longer in operation, I've been debating whether to keep it up on my own. After seeing several other authors continue on their own, I decided to follow suit. So, here is my Several Sentence Sunday excerpt!
This is a snippet from the first chapter of my upcoming short story contemporary romance, Carry Me Home. I'm in the process of working on edits for it now, so I don't have a release date yet. I don't even have a cover yet! But, I figured I'd give you a taste of what will soon be coming your way.
If you read my first Honor Guard book, Her Highland Champion, you'll recognize the hero and heroine of this new story. They were secondary characters in that 1st book.
And now, here are your several sentences.....
Jamie stared at the lass’s fine arse strutting away from him. Her hair had been cut, straightened and the summer dress with the flowery print accentuated all the curves he’d fallen for so many years ago, the curves he knew so intimately. And those heels, for the love of St. Bridget, Mary hadn’t worn high heels like that since she left school. They’d brought her closer to his height, yet she still only reached his shoulders.
She’d left Glenhalish in January a cold, distant housewife and come back this alluring woman. For a moment, panic set inside his gut. He’d intended to convince her to come home so they could face their grief and move on together, but seeing how much happier, sexier and sophisticated she was, perhaps Edinburgh was good for her, better than he could be.
But he wanted her back, wanted to get through this rough patch they’d strayed onto after the lad’s death, and return to the partnership they’d shared since primary school. They had too many years left. She couldn’t leave him. He wouldn’t survive without her.
The lass may have plans to leave him forever, but Jamie MacDougall wouldn’t give her up without a fight.
Well? What do you think?

News On The PRINT Book!
As I'm working on edits for Carry Me Home, a short story romance set in the Highlands of Scotland, I've been in communication with the publisher concerning my print book, Through the Eyes of Darkness! I've seen the front and back cover of it, LOVE it, and can't wait until I can show you! (I can't because I'm having trouble uploading it here.) Also, the print version of my 3 Honor Guard novellas may be available as early as a couple of weeks!!!! I'll keep you updated!
Day job is good. It's so nice having a steady paycheck, the same place to go every morning and people who recognize you. I got my hair cut yesterday and so many people stopped me today and commented on it. For some reason it made me feel good that people noticed and that they've known me long enough to notice.
Actual writing time has been non-existent. Ugh! I really need to get this 2nd short story finished so I can submit it. Why? Because I really want to get back to a longer story with violence and suspense. After seeing Zero Dark Thirty at the weekend, I'm craving a suspensy, thriller-type of story with a minor romance. Yep, I'm in the mood to kill people....

Logo Unveiling!!!!
It's Here, It's Time, It's FANTABULOUS!!!
My fictional bodyguard company, the International Protective Network (or IPN), has an interesting history. To read more about it, go here. I guarantee you'll see exactly why this logo is PERFECT for the company!
In each of my Decadent Publishing Honor Guard books, one of the main characters is an employee of this company, the IPN. The stories I plan to submit this year (and in the future), will also have one employee. Now I have this fabulous logo to use for promoting ALL of my Honor Guard stories.
A HUGE thank you to Cheryl Rae, the wonderful artist who worked with me over a couple of months to put this design together. I love it a bit more each time I look at it.
Well? What do YOU think?
